Kesey, Ken (Elton)
(17 sep. 1935, La Junta, Col., EE.UU.–10 nov. 2001, Eugene, Ore.).

Escritor estadounidense. Asistió a la Universidad de Stanford y más tarde sirvió de sujeto experimental y auxiliar en un hospital, experiencia que motivó su novela Alguien voló sobre el nido del cuco (1962; película, 1975), la cual se transformó en uno de los libros más leídos en EE.UU. en la década de 1960. Fue seguida por Sometimes a Great Notion [Algunas veces una gran idea] (1964) y muchas otras obras de no ficción que describieron la transformación de Kesey de novelista en gurú de la generación hippie. En estas se recogen los viajes psicodélicos y despreocupados que hizo en un bus pintado de colores brillantes con un grupo de amigos, parientes y seguidores que se autodenominaban los alegres pillastres. Su historia se relata en la obra de Tom Wolfe, Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test (1968), en sí misma un pequeño clásico de la época.
